SIDECAR

The history of the Sidecar is fascinating and mysterious. It was first mentioned in two books, "Cocktails: How To Mix Them" by Robert Vermeire in 1922 and "Harry's ABC of Mixing Cocktails" by Harry MacElhone, considered by some to be the true father of the cocktail. Some also believe it was invented at Harry's Bar in Paris, where it is said the Sidecar was first mixed for an army captain who burst into the bar in his sidecar. But there is also a third version, according to which the cocktail was invented in New Orleans.
